DR. NICOLA MICALE
Biography:
Dr. Nicola Micale is working as a Professor in Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences, University of Messina, Viale F. Stagno D’Alcontres 31, I-98166 Messina, Italy.
Research Area:
His fields of specialization is medicinal chemistry. He has more than 13 yrs of teaching and research experience. He has 64 publications in peer-reviewed journals
- “Synthesis and characterization of biopolymers for the development of drug delivery systems for active and/or passive targeting of bioactive molecules”.
- “Design and synthesis of conformationally constrained peptidomimetics as inhibitors of parasitic cysteine proteases”.
- Identifications, design and synthesis of new anti-cancer agents. Selected targets: i) human 20S proteasome; ii) HDACs; iii) Hsp90.
His current research is mainly focused on biopolymers for the development of drug delivery systems for active and/or passive targeting of bioactive molecules and on design and synthesis of heterocyclic compounds targeting human and parasitic proteases.
